Our flame retardant polyamide portfolio combines the application flexibility of nylon with proven fire retardant performance, designed to meet strict regulatory requirements on a global scale. The portfolio spans both halogenated and non-halogenated systems, giving manufacturers the flexibility to match the right chemistry to their performance, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.

Bergamid™ FR is our established line of flame retardant polyamide formulations, available in PA 6, PA 66, and PA 6/66 base resins in unfilled or reinforced systems. The portfolio includes halogenated grades for applications demanding maximum flame retardant efficiency, as well as non-halogenated grades that deliver the eco-conscious performance of a non-halogenated fire retardant system. Both deliver high mechanical strength with good heat resistance and excellent electrical properties — a proven choice for connectors, switchgear, appliance housings, and other electrical and electronic components.

Nymax™ FR REC extends this platform with recycled-content non-halogen flame retardant polyamide formulations in PA 6 and PA 66, with glass fiber reinforcement from 15% to 40% plus unfilled grades. Using post-industrial recycled polyamide feedstock, it delivers recycled content from 43% to 77% — helping OEMs meet circularity mandates and reduce product carbon footprint (PCF) without redesigning parts or re-qualifying for a new polymer family. All measured grades achieve UL 94 V-0 at 0.8 mm, GWFI of 960°C, and CTI of 500–600V, matching the E&E safety envelope customers already qualify to.
